Onesimus: I am set to brush shoulders with other legends

Powered by Entertainers Promotion, Mlaka’s return show in Lilongwe looks promising with the artist beaming with confidence.

Making his announcement on Tuesday, Onesimus wrote on his official Facebook page: “I have offered myself to perform with my band at The Return of Mlaka Concert for free at the Lilongwe Golf Club.

“I am set to brush shoulders with other legends such as Lucius Banda and Billy Kaunda.”

The Solomon hit-maker also said he has bought 200 tickets to give out freely to his fans that want to celebrate with Mlaka on Saturday.

The coming on board of Onesimus to Mlaka’s concert has added an urban face which appeals to the youthful generation. Urban musicians have come to be counted among Malawi music greats in recent years.

In an interview, Onesimus added that he felt it was wise to support Mlaka as part of honouring him as one of the country’s legendary musicians.

He said: “Let’s give them their flowers while they are still alive and well.”

Many followers hailed Onesimus for his gesture, describing it as kind and timely.

One of his top fans, Halima Amirah Mchinji Boys wrote: “Thank you Mr African Butter for this kind gesture. We the Butter Family are happy with that development. As one of your top fans, I need a free ticket.”
