Blame all malaise on Vladimir Putin

Listen to this article

As soon as Russia sent its troops into Ukraine, the reaction of the Occident, most which territory are members of the cold-war inspired North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato), the reaction was swift. Politicians, without serious introspection and reflection, imposed economic sanctions meant to cripple the Russian economy and lead to political insurrections that would topple the long-serving Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

The sanctions included disconnecting Russia from the Swift banking transaction system, freezing Russian assets abroad, and impounding property belonging to people, oligarchs, thought to be friends or partners-in-crime of Putin, banning of Nato (mostly Nortn America and EU) airspace to Russian airlines.

Occident companies, such as Macdonald’s, were overtly or covertly urged to wind down and leave Russia. And they left in droves.

Russian state media, especially Sputnik and RT were banned from Europe as EU and US media smiled because they thought the Occident had won part of the war: propaganda. Indeed, throughout the war, until now, Occidental media report that Russia is losing the war, and the retreat. Having RT (like we do in Africa) gives a more balanced picture.

Three months into the Ukraine war, with most sanctions in full implementation, Occidental politicians realised they were still paying Russia billions in US dollars and euros for its energy supplies.

Sanctions on Russian energy became a necessity. But some EU countries expressed reservations.  Attempts to cajole India to refrain from buying Russian energy hit a hard wall. No attempt was even made to sway China and other countries that buy Russian energy.

When the sanctions failed to collapse the Russian economy, a new narrative emerged. Russia was responsible for everything that is bad in the world at present.

So, in Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and other countries the shortages in forex, fertilisers, cooking oil, and other commodities their economies are experiencing are a result of none other than Putin.

In the USA, there is shortage of baby formula, the price of fuel has skyrocketed, mass shootings have worsened, and inflation is at its worst since the economic crunch of 2008. Why? The President of that country, Joseph Biden Jnr, knows who is guilty and responsible: Putin.

In the United Kingdom, the common people are having a bad and economic hard time. Prices have soared through the roof, zinthu zakwera mu mitengo. Boris Johnson knows it is because Putin invaded Ukraine. Toeing the line, some UK media have even described Putin as Mad Vlad!

The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the UN Secretary General have now entered the blame-game.  The new narrative is that there is a wheat shortage in the wheat-eating world because Putin has blockaded Black Sea and Ukrainian wheat cannot go out to feed poor Africans, whose diet is mostly maize, bananas, yams, and cassava, as potential wheat-hunger sufferers. Don’t laugh.

The FAO knows the truth because it has wheat production and exportation data. According to the same FAO, the largest wheat producers in the world are China, India, Russia, USA, France, Canada, Pakistan, Ukraine, Australia, Germany and Turkey in that order.  .

Together, Russia and Ukraine export 53 million tonnes.  If this figure was shared and covered by other wheat producing countries, there would be no wheat shortage in the wheat eating world. The FAO knows this fact.

The FAO knows the current wheat shortage is a result of deliberate hoarding of wheat or not wanting to export it.   Has the FAO tried to ask China and India to sell some of their combined 230 million tonnes of wheat?

From now on, memorise this.  There is monkey pox in the USA and Europe because Vladimir Putin exported it from Africa.

If Covid-19, HIV and Aids, Small Pox, headaches, Alzheimer’s, syphilis, gonorrhea, and cholera are still around it is because callous and inhumane Putin does not want these diseases to go.

If you fail in school, blame Putin.  If there is a drought, blame Putin.  If your leaders are corrupt, blame Putin.

If you are sick, just blame Putin. If your marriage is in tatters, blame Putin. If you are short or tall ask Putin to explain.

Even fish dying in Lakes Victoria, Tanganyika, and Malawi?  Yes, blame all on Putin.

Is that clear?
