Participants in the Blantyre Motor Show says its recent exhibition in Blantyre will promote the luxury motor industry in the country.

Speaking during a motor show exhibition on Saturday at Country Club Limbe in Blantyre, Mahindra Malawi sales and marketing officer George Livuwo said the motor show will help the customers to appreciate the wide range of vehicles on offer.

He said: “This platform gives us an opportunity to showcase the vehicles we have that meet different needs and solutions of our customers.

“We are happy that there are also banks and insurance companies who will help the customers to get better deals.”

Belly Motors official, Walter Nyamilandu Junior said they are trying to induce themselves into a high-end luxury vehicle market segment which is not popular in the country.

One of the organisers of the Blantyre Motor Show, Alinane Njolomole, said the initiative will assist industry players to expand their market.

He said: “The show gives an opportunity to participating brands to increase visibility.

“We also commended banks for providing individuals and corporates vehicle loans and insurance companies for insuring the cars.”

On his part, National Bank of Malawi plc business development manager for vehicle and assets finance, Weston Chiwanda, said they have a vehicle and assets facility that helps in the precision of motor financing to corporates, medium enterprises as well as individuals.
