Convoy of Hope Foundation has donated a wheelchair to Lester James of Chagwaudyo Village, Traditional Authority Mlauli in Neno District to ease his mobility.

Her mother Gladys Kabotolo said Lester, 23, had no wheelchair.

She said it took Dzuka Chilomoni Foundation to approach Convoy of Hope Foundation for assistance.

Speaking on Friday during the handover of the wheelchair, Convoy of Hope executive director Gloria Makunje said she was touched when she saw the picture of the young man.

“Although the wheelchairs were out of stock when we were approached for assistance, we managed to source one for Lester,” she said.

Group village head Mbawe commended Convoy of Hope Foundation and its partners for the support.

Convoy of Hope Foundation was registered in 2017 and it has reached out to hospitals, prisons, schools and communities with hospital equipment, blankets, clothes as well as farm inputs.

The foundation with funding from Dossani Trust, has also given bursaries to 47 secondary school and university students.

The wheelchair donation was supported by Gift of the Givers Foundation, Dossani Trust and Mijn Kitchen.
