National Initiative for Civic Education (Nice) Trust executive director Ollen Mwalubunju has resigned from his position.

An internal communication addressed to Nice Trust employees dated April 6 2022 signed by the trust’s chairperson Abel Khombe stated that Mwalubunju resigned from the position with effect from March 22 2022.

Mwalubunju: One has to move on in life

“In line with terms and conditions of the employment contract and conditions of service, he is serving a three month notice until 21st June 2022,” reads the memo in part.

The memo further stated that due to his accumulated leave days, Mwalubunju’s last day of service will be June 2 2022 and that he will bid farewell to staff at the secretariat while those in satellite offices will receive memos to appreciate the working relationship Mwalubunju shared with them.

In an interview yesterday, Mwalubunju said he decided to move on after serving Nice Trust for nine years.

He said: “It’s true. One has to move on in life, I have been with Nice for nine years and now I have to take up other more challenging tasks.”
