Nico Group celebrates golden jubilee

Nico Group managing director Vizenge Kumwenda says the company has thrived in its 50 years of existence despite numerous challenges.

He said this on Friday on the sidelines of a parade and dinner the company organised as part of its 50th anniversary cerebrations.

Kumwenda said: “Our ultimate goal has been to turn peoples’ dreams into reality and have a positive impact on the Malawian economy in the process. The impact that the Nico Group has had both on individuals and the economy cannot be disputed

“We have achieved this by providing superior and affordable financial services solutions to our customers.

“We have evolved and developed unparalleled resilience such that it is much stronger today than ever before.”

He added that the group has 1 200 employees and over 2000 pensioners that receive monthly pension payouts to support their post-employment livelihoods.

In his remarks, Nico Group chairperson Gaffar Hassam said the company offers a diverse range of services to suit individual, compny and government needs.

Through its existence, the group has been providing general and life insurance, pension administration, banking, asset management, information and communication technology, property management and development.
