Nico Life Insurance Company Limited in partnership with WiseChoice Insurance Agency last week launched the Kumudzi Diaspora Funeral Policy to help ease the repatriation and burial of Malawians living abroad.

With K6 500 to K30 000 monthly premiums, the funeral plan will be paying out a cash benefit between K1 million and K5 million for funeral expenses.

Speaking during the launch, Nico Life Insurance Company Limited chief executive officer Eric Chapola said the company strives to ease the pressure on Malawians regardless of where they are.

He said: “At Nico Life, we realise the need to lay loved ones to rest with dignity.

“We are prepared to shoulder the burden of funeral expenses as you get the chance to pay last respect with dignity.”

WiseChoice Insurance Agency chief executive officer Benson Mapereka said the policy will benefit many.

He said the funeral plan accommodates up to 10 immediate and extended family members and that premiums can be made directly from outside the country through local banks and money transfers.
