Piksy lights up Mibawa night

Urban music artist Piksy on Saturday night gave a brilliant performance at Mibawa Multipurpose Hall in Limbe.

The show was beamed live on Mibawa Television.

During the performance, under the Saturday Night Live programme, Piksy showed confidence and the synergy he shares with his Langwan Movement Band.

Piksy: It feels good to be back on stage

The seamless set saw the artist open his act with Moto before offering Maloto.

And when at some point the star ditched his backing band to offer a choral performance of Takomana, Mibawa Television viewers had a clear taste of his vocal clarity.

“Since Covid-19 disrupted live shows, this is one of my main big events reconnecting with my fans. It feels good to be back on stage doing what we do,” he said.

Piksy then took fans down memory lane with Pa Mtima, a song he originally created during his Atumwi duo days.

Other songs he performed included Umakwana, Ponya Mwendo, Alleluyah and Ole Ole.

When he did Alleluyah, which he released recently with rapper Gwamba, Piksy gave a shout out to his collaborator.

“Gwamba, I know you are watching. Let us do this,” he said, before performing a solo version of the song.

His interactions with patrons both at the venue and online was on point.

It was also clear from the effortless coordination of the act that he and his band had prepared well for the sho.

The performance was sponsored by WS Bet while Mibawa Television presenters DT and DJ Boo hosted the show.
