purchases and winter cropping as a humanitarian response
to food insecurity and a program for enhancing public
finance management systems.
40. Madam Speaker, the 2024-25 development expenditure
has been revised to K1.58 trillion from the approved provision
of K1.77 trillion. Both domestically and foreign financed
components have reduced by K110.5 billion and K76.8 billion,
respectively.
41. Madam Speaker, I wish to emphasize that the reduced
development budget does not entail scaling down of
implementation of projects but reflects contractual
bottlenecks. The August House is therefore, being assured
that implementation of projects will continue and that all
completed works will be prioritized for payment.
42. Madam Speaker, you may wish to note that
implementation of a number of projects is on course. It is
expected that some projects would be completed in the
next financial year’s budget. The following are some of the
